The sauce isn't thick. Turns out it didn't matter. He managed to stay awake through the whole meal and for about 10 minutes after. He attempted to do the dishes but when I saw him standing in the kitchen with a lost, bewildered look in his blood shot eyes I took pity on my glassware and sent him to the couch.
