Love the story and the round about getting on with it...I did have to go read Quilly's before finishing yours. Thanks for waiting. I was never that much of a daredevil and I never learned to ride a bike without coaster brakes. I'm just no good at it.

Anyway, while reading Quilly's part I saw the picture about adults wanting the kids dead and all, and I think that might be why my step-father would drag me around on my sled behind the car.
Granted here in Texas we don't get much snow and/or ice, but when it did he would get out the old green coupe and tie a rope on the bumper and away we would go. I thought even then that it probably wasn't a good idea to do that.

We all have our bicycle stories. I've re posted my bicycle story on today's post.

Enjoyed the read. The Maritime Provinces have the same in relation to "The Boston States" when it comes to the Mud of Spring when the snow leaves. This is why one needs a good fender on their bicycle.

:D Thank you for reposting it. I do remember this story, and it's still just as funny this time around.

I don't remember how I started riding a bike, but I do remember practically every other time I rode it. I had so much fun on that thing, and I'd give anything to have that ugly old yellow banana seat bike back.
